Virginia homeowner’s values after going solar

August 14th, 2018 | By Roger Kuznia

Renewable Energy Leads the Way

Construction of a proposed 500-megawatt solar farm in northern Virginia cleared another hurdle recently when that state’s State Corporation Commission signed off on a deal for a utility-scale provider to move forward with its plans in Spotsylvania County.

Microsoft has a contract to buy more than 60 percent of that power as it works to power more of its datacenters with clean, renewable energy. While Spotsylvania County officials must sign off on the deal before work can officially begin, they likely will green-light the project if it meets environmental guidelines, given the economic impacts from construction and operation of the project.

To give you a sense of the size of this project, the 500 megawatt farm will consist of 1.8 million panels, per the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and take up 3,500 acres of land.

What does this deal tell the average homeowner in Virginia, especially when a Fortune 500 company gets involved? If solar energy usage is seen as valuable for one of the world’s most successful companies, imagine the potential impact it can make on your home’s energy usage.

Pink Energy in Virginia Solar Market

Virginia is one of five states where Pink Energy does business, and it is the largest installer of residential solar systems in the state. With a rooftop or ground-mount solar installation at your home, homeowners can begin owning their power instead of continually renting it from their utility company. Excess energy that your panels produce are sent back to the grid and credited to your account, meaning that you benefit from all the energy that your panels produce.

With our innovative solar program, homeowners can go solar for $0 up-front cost, save money on their electric bills, and generate their own clean energy. The solar panels installed on your home are American-made and come with a 25-year warranty, with many panels expected to last well beyond that.

Check out our Virginia Beach and Richmond sites for more information on local solar installations.

Please feel free to fill out the handy form below or contact Pink Energy at (877) 4-GO-Pink, and one of our solar representatives will help you determine whether your home qualifies for this solar program.
