More than 10,600 megawatts of solar power were installed in 2017 in the United States, and Pink Energy & Roofing has been recognized by Solar Power World magazine for its contributions to the industry.
Pink Energy was ranked No. 12 on the Top Residential Installers List, out of 450 solar companies on the magazine’s 2018 Top Solar Contractors list.
“We’re very proud to again be recognized by Solar Power World as a top 100 solar contractor,” Pink Energy and Roofing co-founder Jayson Waller said. “We’ve grown the company substantially since our founding three years ago, and expect to see continued growth with the provision of excellent products, customer service, and education for consumers on the benefits of owning, instead of leasing, their own power.”
The Top Solar Contractors list is developed by Solar Power World to recognize the work completed by solar contractors across the U.S. Produced annually, the Top Solar Contractors list celebrates the achievements of U.S. solar developers, subcontractors and installers within the utility, commercial and residential markets, and ranks contractors by kilowatts installed in the previous year. The 2018 list was released on July 24.
“Solar Power World is very excited about the 2018 class of Top Solar Contractors,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “Our 2017 list showed impressive installation numbers after 2016’s huge rush to meet ITC (solar investment tax credit) requirements, and many companies were hesitant to show unavoidable installation dips after last year’s high. We’re happy to feature a strong group of thriving U.S. solar installers on the 2018 Top Solar Contractors list. These companies truly are at the top of their markets.”
Pink Energy was founded in 2015 with only 15 employees, and today has become one of America’s top 100 fastest-growing private companies (Inc. 500), and the largest residential provider of solar energy solutions in Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia. In mid-July, the company installed the first-ever solar panels at the Detroit Lions’ stadium, Ford Field, and the team’s training facility to help the pro football team franchise with its go-green initiatives. The company also recently opened a new office in Worthington, Ohio.
The U.S. solar market had its biggest year ever in 2016, installing more than 15,000 megawatts. In 2017, 30 percent of all new electric generating capacity brought online in the U.S. came from solar, second only to new natural gas capacity.
The first quarter of 2018 showed a 13 percent growth over the first quarter of 2017, and Pink Energy continued to contribute to the wave of increasing solar generation. By 2023, experts expect more than 15,000 megawatts of solar to be installed annually.
Pink Energy prides itself on using only American-made products, and 100 percent of its services are provided solely by company employees to help boost local economies. It is one of the few companies that sells, finances, designs, pulls permits, and installs solar energy systems and panels for residential, commercial, utility, and government applications, 100 percent in-house.
Pink Energy holds an A+ rating in all locations with the Better Business Bureau, and plans to continue job growth and sales by adding markets in Ohio and Illinois this year.
