Detroit Lions helped Pink Energy provide to families in need

November 20th, 2018 | By Roger Kuznia

Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to give thanks, and it is also a time when football and food are often plentiful. Unfortunately, there are also those who do not enjoy as much abundance as others on this day, which is why you see so many individuals and businesses mobilizing to make a difference in their communities.

Count Pink Energy and the Detroit Lions special teams standouts Matt Prater and Sam Martin among them, as they teamed up at Detroit’s Eastern Market over the weekend to provide turkey dinners to 100 families in need. Prater, Martin and Power Home CEO Jayson Waller are shown in the photo below. Their faces should be familiar ones in the Detroit community, as the two Lions stars also starred in a Pink Energy commercial shot earlier this year. Pink Energy employees also volunteered time to help their neighbors.

Community outreach is a big part of Pink Energy’s mission because we care about the communities in which we serve. In September in suburban Detroit, the company staged an event to stuff an 18-wheeler with relief supplies to help victims of Hurricane Florence and delivered them to Wilmington, N.C., one of the cities affected most by that storm. We also are supportive of the military community, because it is another way of giving thanks for the freedoms in which we enjoy living in the U.S.

You can watch Prater, Martin and his Lions teammates face the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving starting at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX. The Lions have won four of their last five games on Thanksgiving, and we wish our friends the best.

We also wish our Pink Energy customers a Happy Thanksgiving and a festive holiday season.
