Why you should be cautious of power companies

Providing Solar Energy Independence from Power Companies

Pink Energy is committed to a vision of providing customers affordable solar energy solutions that are environmentally-friendly by nature. It is also inspiring when others share that vision as well.

Case in point: Earlier this month, Traverse City (Mich.) Light and Power approved a motion by a 5-1 vote to work toward powering 100 percent of its energy needs with renewable energy by 2040. Per PV Magazine, that makes TCL&P the first in the state to make such a commitment.

The utility also has set interim benchmark goals, as it wants to get to 15 percent renewable energy by 2021 and 40 percent by 2025. Currently, 12 percent of the utility’s power comes from renewable sources, which include solar, wind and landfill gas.

“I love this goal,” utility board member Ross Hammersley said, per a report from the Traverse City Record Eagle. “I think it’s important and I think it’s great to set an aspirational goal … I think I stated at the last meeting that if it was me personally, I might try to go even more ambitious than this.”

Per the Traverse Ticker, Michigan Climate Action Network director Kate Madigan estimates that reaching the 2025 goal would cut the TCL&P’s carbon emissions by 68,000 metric tons, and that number would grow to 200,000 metric tons if the 2040 goal is met.

Pink Energy’s Solar Program

As utilities continually see the value in going green, it’s another signal for homeowners to get in on the clean energy movement and reduce their own carbon footprint. Pink Energy, recently named the No. 1 residential rooftop solar contractor in Michigan, can help you get there.

With Pink Energy’s innovative solar program, homeowners can go solar for $0 up-front cost, save money on their electric bills, and generate their own clean energy. The solar panels installed on your home are American-made and come with a 25-year warranty, with many panels expected to last well beyond that.

Please feel free to fill out the handy form below or contact Pink Energy at 800-765-2715, and one of our solar representatives will help you determine whether your home qualifies for this program.
