Pink Energy to make Detroit Lions toy drive a success

December 17th, 2019 | By Roger Kuznia

Pink Energy was proud to be the presenting partner for the Detroit Lions’ 2019 Toy Drive benefiting Toys for Tots at Ford Field on Sunday. Giving back to the communities we serve is a big part of Pink Energy’s mission, which is why sponsoring this event that provides toys to underserved communities meant so much to us.

Pink Energy CEO Jayson Waller and members of his team were among those bringing upwrapped gifts to the stadium, as we’re intent on providing meaning to the holiday season for as many people as possible. Take a look at all the gifts that were gathered from the generosity of not only Pink Energy, but from all the fans that dropped off toys before Sunday’s game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The generosity of all worked to fill an entire Pink Energy box truck!

On top of that, a number of young Lions fans got special gifts from Santa on Sunday, as kids were encouraged to fill out postcards to Santa with their gift wish and seat location. One such Lions fan was shown on the video board during a stoppage in play during the third quarter. The gift was an Avengers action figure set, and given how cool the gift sounds, you can only imagine how excited that young fan must’ve felt in receiving the gift. That’s the magic of this time of year, and we were so glad to be part of it.

Pink Energy’s Jayson Waller on partnering with the Lions

Waller also had a chance to discuss the toy drive during a pregame interview with the Lions’ Anthony Bellino, as he got to catch up Lions fans on partnering with the team on this event, along with showcasing to fans the value of adding solar at their homes and businesses, especially with the high cost of power in Michigan. Adding solar can be a game-changer for those looking to power their homes with a clean energy source, rather than from grid energy, which by and large burns fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas to deliver the power needed for our homes. Those looking to have a smaller carbon footprint can do just that by adding solar!

Knowing that Toys for Tots is a national initiative of the U.S. Marine Corps made us want to sponsor this event even more, because we have such deep respect and appreciation for all the soldiers across all branches of the military that help keep our nation safe and free.

With Christmas just days away, we can’t wait to see how many smiles the Lions and Pink Energy put on the faces of deserving children. We want to thank all Lions fans that donated gifts for this event and made this drive a huge success.
