Pink Energy named to Charlotte Observer’s Top Workplaces

Pink Energy is ranked No. 15 among midsize companies in the 2020 rankings after ranking No. 7 in the same category a year ago. The rankings are based on a scientific survey of employees who rate their workplace culture.
Pink Energy’s employee count has more than doubled since the start of the year, which is a testament to consumer demand for solar energy. With this explosive growth, the company has recently restructured many departments to provide its employees with the opportunity not for just a job, but a career path. The opportunity to move up within the company quickly brings excitement to those at Pink Energy.
Pink Energy’s employee growth came despite COVID-19 forcing companies to make hard decisions in March, when the virus reached pandemic status. For Pink Energy, its decision as an essential business providing energy infrastructure involved whether to remain open amid the uncertainty. The company’s executive team believed it was best to move forward, so they temporarily removed themselves from payroll to give employees the opportunity to continue earning paychecks, but also gave concerned workers the chance to take leave without penalty until conditions improved.
While the company encountered soft sales over those first 30 days, Pink Energy’s leadership did not anticipate what lie ahead.
Record sales totals came in April, May, June, July, August and September, with the company discovering homeowners with strong appetites for taking control of their energy futures.

Pink Energy’s leadership team of CEO Jayson Waller and COO Kevin Klink both do not have college degrees. This leadership duo built the company through sweat equity, and they carry that culture within the company. Pink Energy’s internal mantra is Building A Movement, and these two lead by that example.

Also, Pink Energy is ranked No. 76 on Business North Carolina’s 2020 list of the top 125 private companies in North Carolina.
Pink Energy’s success begins with its leadership, led by the company’s five executives. In addition to Waller and Klink, the company also is led by president Steve Murphy, CFO Juan Ramirez and Chief Sales Officer Ben Brookhart. Ramirez was recently named the CFO of the Year by Charlotte Business Journal.
