Today, Pink Energy announced the installation of roof-mounted solar panel arrays on three buildings at Bardaville Apartments, in Lansing, Michigan. Bardaville offers 131 one-bedroom units near Capital Region International Airport.

The addition of Pink Energy’s rooftop systems will produce approximately 125,000 kWh of solar energy annually. This installation is the first phase of solar that will be installed at the property, with Bardaville pursuing the eventual goal of offsetting grid energy by nearly 100 percent.

“We chose to go solar for a variety of reasons, but first and foremost is to be able to keep our rent adjusted so the tenants of Bardaville can reap the benefits of the cost savings that will occur over time,” said Sam Dua, President S & S Asset Management, Inc., the management company for Bardaville Apartments.

Energy bills comprise a significant portion of any business’s operating costs. As the price of solar energy systems continues to drop, those systems offer predictably-priced electricity, making solar a strong value proposition for organizations, such as apartment complexes, looking to maintain strict budgets.

“Installing solar panels makes great business sense. Solar panels stabilize energy costs and help lower operating expenses,” said Pink Energy CEO Jayson Waller. “In terms of use on facilities such as an apartment complex, a solar power system requires little or no maintenance at all, and the solar panels we install come with a 30-year power production warranty.”

Pink Energy, the largest residential solar provider in Michigan, continues to expand its commercial business in the state and is an official partner of the Detroit Lions, having installed solar panels on the parking garage at Ford Field and at the team’s practice facility in Allen Park.
